Stewardship

Christian Stewardship is based on the belief that God is the Creator and all things belong to God.

We are trustees of God's gifts, accountable to God and one another for their use.

In the Bible, the steward is the overseer, caretaker, and household manager – but not the owner. Jesus saw the steward as the willing custodian of all that God has entrusted to us: all life, the earth, and the gospel news of God's love.

Our actions and the way we use what has been entrusted to us are the ways we respond to God's grace.

The Harcourt Stewardship Committee is a standing committee responsible for developing and implementing a year-round, ongoing stewardship program with all ages in the congregation. We encourage all Harcourt members and adherents to live a stewardship lifestyle.

Harcourt needs your time, talents and financial support.  What gifts might you be able to offer our congregation?

Gifts of Time and Talent. There are many opportunities for short or longer term involvement in the activities of Harcourt.  Not sure where your talents might lie?  Watch for periodic “Spiritual Gifts” workshops offered by the Spiritual Life Committee to help your discernment process.  Perhaps you already know where you might like to take part.  An email to our office will be redirected to the appropriate committee or organizer. Or speak directly to our ministerial staff or council members.

Financial Support. Your financial support is always needed to maintain the many ministries of this congregation.  Our Finance Committee prepares a forecast of the year's financial requirements to which we all agree at our late-winter congregational meeting.  Regular weekly givings support these programs. Another way to ensure future financial obligations are met is through gifts to our Legacy Fund.  Please follow the links below to obtain further information regarding some of the options available for donating to Harcourt and The United Church of Canada.

Through our faithful Stewardship, may we all care for each other, for the ministries of this congregation, and for the world beyond.
