Visits by lay members of Harcourt supplement the pastoral care
provided by Wendy Brown and Jim Ball. Visitors pay regular visits in person
and/or by telephone, provide transportation for shopping and to
appointments and are friends in many other ways. This friendship has
been very much appreciated by those being visited. Critical to the
success of this program is the careful matching of volunteers and
those needing visits.
A team of interested people has been working on putting together a
comprehensive pastoral care plan for Harcourt. As a result, the
present Lay Visitation Program may change to better fit the pastoral
care needs within our congregation. Training opportunities will be
made available for volunteers who wish it.
