The bridge group, established in 1977, operates on a flexible
schedule where a host couple/partners entertain other members, usually one or two tables, once a
month. Dessert is served prior to bridge and the evening is a mixture
of fellowship and discussions of family and church life. The season, which runs from October to May, begins and ends with a potluck dinner.
Harcourt's Collective Kitchen, made up of six women, meet each month
(excluding July and August) on a Friday morning. They cook meals both
for themselves and to give away to persons the church identifies as
in need of a meal. Harcourt's well-equipped kitchen is an ideal
facility for group cooking, and the monthly work sessions are an
excellent community-building experience for the participants. For more information please call the church office.
If you are an adult without a partner for social activities, please consider joining the Harcourt Independents for dutch-treat lunch at noon on Sundays and for other activities as scheduled. Contact Jeannette Anthony or Kay Speed through the church office. If you attend Harcourt memorial United Church, you can check for information at the Lucy Booth. Visitors and guests are always welcome!
The Harcourt parachute was first used at the Tailgate party. It provided lots of fun and helped celebrate the new parking lot.
The parachute is 45 feet in diameter and more than 50 people can use it. It is a great activity for all ages together; great for use at camps, church picnics and school events.
The parachute can be borrowed along with the book that explains the games you can create with it. We only ask for a small donation of your choosing, and that you treat the parachute with care.
